The complete neutral comparison of every major hospital vendor credentialing platform in the U.S. — Symplr, GHX/Vendormate, Green Security, IntelliCentrics (SEC³URE), and HealthTrust VPro. Pricing, approval times, network coverage, and which hospitals use each.

Quick answer: which one do you actually need?
You don’t get to pick. The hospital picks for you. Whatever platform your target hospital uses is the one you have to be on — and most reps end up on two or three because their territory crosses multiple health systems.
Three-second decision rule:
- HCA hospitals? → HealthTrust VPro is mandatory.
- Most academic medical centers and large independents? → GHX/Vendormate.
- Ascension, Orlando Health, much of the Southeast? → Symplr.
- Regional Midwest/Southeast systems? → Green Security.
- Smaller community hospitals and specialty facilities? → SEC³URE (now part of Symplr).
Look up your specific hospital in our hospital directory before assuming anything.

Platform-by-platform
symplr Access (largest network)
The biggest single platform by hospital count and the natural starting point for most reps. The 2025 merger with IntelliCentrics consolidated SEC³URE customers onto the symplr Access platform, expanding the network significantly. Smart Badge (launched at ViVE 2026) eliminates kiosk check-in at participating facilities.
Best for: Reps with broad territories; anyone covering multiple health systems across the country.
Cost: $200–$500/year depending on tier (Standard, Advantage, Prime). Annual renewal.
Approval timeline: 24–48 hours for clean files; 1–2 weeks if hospital-specific add-on modules are required.

GHX/Vendormate
Strong presence at academic medical centers (AMCs) and large independent systems. The credentialing arm of GHX, the supply-chain platform most hospitals already use for purchasing. Network is smaller than symplr but the rep experience is often cleaner because GHX integrates document storage directly with hospital purchasing systems.
Best for: Reps focused on AMCs, specialty hospitals, large independent systems (Cleveland Clinic, NYU Langone, etc.).
Cost: $300–$500/year depending on tier.
Approval timeline: 24–72 hours for the base credential; hospital-specific modules add days.

HealthTrust VPro
The platform for HCA Healthcare and affiliated HealthTrust facilities. If your territory includes HCA hospitals, this is mandatory — there is no substitute, and HCA does not accept other platforms. The tiered structure (Tier 1, 2, 3) maps to different access levels with progressively more documentation per tier.
Best for: Anyone working with HCA Healthcare facilities or HealthTrust-affiliated hospitals.
Cost: $300–$500/year depending on tier; some categories of vendors pay more.
Approval timeline: 3–10 business days. Often longer than other platforms because HCA’s verification standards are stricter.

Green Security
Lower-cost alternative concentrated in regional health systems, particularly across the Midwest and Southeast. The platform is leaner — fewer integrations, less polished interface — but the price reflects that. If a hospital in your territory uses Green Security, you’ll need it; you can’t substitute another platform.
Best for: Reps with territory in the Midwest/Southeast or with specific regional systems using Green Security.
Cost: $150–$300/year — typically the cheapest of the major platforms.
Approval timeline: 24–72 hours.
SEC³URE / IntelliCentrics
SEC³URE was the IntelliCentrics-branded platform; IntelliCentrics merged with symplr in 2025. Existing SEC³URE accounts are being migrated to symplr Access. New reps generally don’t sign up for SEC³URE directly anymore — they go through symplr Access and inherit the SEC³URE network.
Best for: Anyone with a legacy SEC³URE/IntelliCentrics account — keep it active during the migration window.

How to choose if you have a choice (you usually don’t)
Most reps don’t choose a platform — they accumulate them. Your first hospital determines your first platform; your second hospital may add another; by the end of your first year you’ll likely have credentials on 2–3.
If you do have flexibility (territory is still flexible, or you’re prioritizing which hospitals to pursue first), three factors matter:
- Where does your buying committee actually work? Start there. Don’t credential ahead of an opportunity.
- What’s the cost-per-hospital math? A $500 platform credential covering 50 hospitals in your territory is much cheaper per visit than a $300 platform covering 5.
- What’s the approval time? If you need access within 48 hours, that rules out HealthTrust VPro for first-time onboarding.
Total cost of credentialing across multiple platforms
Most active medical sales reps end up paying $1,500–$2,500/year across all platforms combined. A representative breakdown:
- symplr Access (most territories require it): $300/yr
- GHX/Vendormate (most AMCs): $400/yr
- HealthTrust VPro (HCA-heavy territories): $400/yr
- Green Security (regional add): $200/yr
- Background check refresh, training renewals: $200–$400/yr
- Hospital-specific add-on modules: $100–$300/yr
Reps who specialize in a single health system can often stay on a single platform and save substantially. Reps with broad regional territories typically can’t.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use one platform’s credential at hospitals that use a different platform?
No. Each hospital chooses its own credentialing platform, and that’s the only platform that hospital accepts. If you visit hospitals on three different platforms, you need three separate credentials.
Which platform is cheapest?
Green Security is typically the lowest-cost of the major platforms ($150–$300/year). But the cheapest platform is irrelevant if your hospitals don’t use it — what matters is the cost per hospital covered in your actual territory.
Which platform is the largest?
symplr Access has the largest single network at 5,000+ U.S. hospitals, especially after the IntelliCentrics merger. GHX/Vendormate is the strongest at large academic medical centers but is smaller overall.
Did SEC³URE and IntelliCentrics merge with symplr?
Yes. IntelliCentrics (which owned the SEC³URE brand) merged with symplr in 2025, and existing SEC³URE accounts are migrating to symplr Access. Some hospitals still display the SEC³URE branding during the transition.
How do I know which platform my hospital uses?
Look up the specific hospital in our hospital directory — every facility lists its current credentialing platform plus a registration link.
Are there any platforms not on this list?
A few small regional platforms exist, plus some hospital systems handle credentialing in-house. The five compared here cover roughly 95% of U.S. hospitals. Specialty cases (research-only access, observer credentials) sometimes use lighter-weight systems.

A note for healthcare professionals on the road
Credentialing is the paperwork. The actual work — long shifts, hours on your feet, drives at either end — has its own toll. Our sister project Pure Heat Retreat publishes a recovery guide written specifically for medical sales reps, OR techs, and traveling nurses.
Hospital Credentialing Hub is an independent resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Symplr, GHX, HealthTrust, Green Security, or IntelliCentrics. While we strive to keep information accurate and up to date, users should always confirm pricing and requirements directly with the platform.
