Vendor credentialing is the process of verifying that a healthcare representative or contractor meets a hospital’s compliance standards—like background checks, vaccinations, and training—before being allowed on site.
Credentialing is handled by third-party agencies like SEC³URE, Vendormate (GHX), Green Security, HealthTrust VPro, and others. Each hospital chooses its preferred partner.
A vendor credentialing attestation letter is a signed statement—usually on company letterhead—confirming that you (or your employees) meet a hospital’s vendor access requirements. It typically attests to items like background check, drug screen, required trainings (HIPAA/OSHA), vaccinations/TB screening, and active liability insurance. Hospitals or platforms (e.g., symplr, GHX/Vendormate, Green Security) may accept an attestation in place of uploading each underlying document.
What it usually includes:
Employee name/role and employer info
Items being attested (immunizations, TB, trainings, screenings, insurance)
Statement of truth, signer’s name/title, contact info, date/signature
Help keep the database accurate and earn a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card once per year.
