How medical device and supply reps register, get credentialed and check in through VendorStat — the platform UPMC uses.
ProTech Compliance is an independent technology and services company that provides vendor credentialing and access-control systems to healthcare organizations. Its healthcare product is VendorStat — the system a sales or service representative actually registers with and checks in through.
UPMC describes ProTech Compliance as a company "that provides the health care industry and vendors serving the industry with simple, cost-effective, and reliable technology solutions for managing vendor-client relationships, including the credentialing and certification process, compliance standards, facility security, scheduling, tracking, and reporting."

UPMC routes all vendor representatives through ProTech Compliance. UPMC's own vendor compliance page tells reps plainly: "Vendor representatives can register via www.protechcompliance.com."
ProTech is an independent Pittsburgh firm, not a UPMC product — UPMC is a customer. Our directory currently lists 34 UPMC facilities on ProTech Compliance.
ProTech Compliance publishes a set of online training courses for the healthcare industry, including bloodborne pathogens safety, HIPAA compliance, OR protocol training and TB prevention. Whether a given hospital accepts those in place of another provider's certificates is a facility-by-facility question — check with the site you are visiting.
ProTech does not publish its registration fees publicly. VendorStat's fee schedule sits behind the login, so we are not going to quote a number here. You will see the current fees during registration.
Credential requirements are set by the hospital, not by the platform — immunizations, background screening, HIPAA training and insurance certificates are common, and they vary by facility and by the areas you need to enter. Always confirm with the facility's vendor management or supply chain team before you travel.
Search nearly 18,000 U.S. hospitals, surgery centers and clinics to see which vendor credentialing platform each one uses.
